Gavin Yeung the Hong Kong-based writer and editor at Tatler Dining published an article on tatlerasia.com that “Why Sri Lanka is an isle of plenty for intrepid food lovers”. In the article he wrote, he has mentioned about the natural beauty of Sri Lanka and the Ocean around the country.

In particular, he mentioned the British science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke, who lived in Sri Lanka for 52 years.

"In his 1977 anthology The View from Serendip, British science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke, who lived in Sri Lanka for 52 years until his death, wrote, Sri Lanka is a small universe; it contains as many variations of culture, scenery and climate as some countries a dozen times its size".
